Mactech was appointed as a Tier 1 contractor for the Teesside Renewable Energy Project (TeesREP), one of the largest biomass power stations in the UK. The project aimed to build and install temporary site facilities while providing crucial workforce solutions during the construction phase of the 299MW biomass plant. This facility will eventually generate renewable energy for hundreds of thousands of homes, making it a key contributor to the UK’s green energy initiatives.

Mactech’s involvement in the project included overseeing the housing, welfare services, and workforce management for over 1,100 workers, ensuring that every aspect of worker logistics was effectively handled throughout the construction phase.

Managing the extensive logistics required to house and support over 1,100 workers on-site while maintaining high-quality welfare services was a key focus of the project. Additionally, there was a need to provide technical and professional personnel to assist the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor’s project management team.

The project also required Mactech to go beyond standard employment services by acting as a strategic partner. This involved offering multi-tiered support for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, covering mechanical and electrical teams, rigging squads, and payroll management.
