  • Nuclear Semi Skilled / Grade 3 / Trade Assistants

    • Position - Site Operatives (nuclear decommissioning)

    Site Operatives required for decommissioning, strip out and removal of plant and equipment at the Winfrith nuclear power station site.

    Candidates will be experienced / qualified as follows:-

    Must have baseline security clearance BPSS (any candidate who has been on an EDF or Magnox site in the last 12 months will have this)

    Required:
    • Use of hand tools and power tools including grinders
    • Use of face-fit respirator
    • Experienced with heavy site environments including controlled works with a back ground in decommissioning, demolition, strip and removal of heavy plant.

    Preferred:
    • Use of PASMA equipment
    • Magnox Triple Bar
    • Fork Lift licence
    • Lifting & Slinging

    Start Date: January 2017
    Duration: 12 months
    Hours per week: 38 hours

    Pay Rates: Blue Book Grade 3 (semi skilled operatives) as follows:-

    Dayshift first 38 hours: £16.47
    Overtime 1: £22.83
    Overtime 2: £29.19

    • Accommodation allowance where applicable paid at £275.59 per week (this amount is subject to tax as per HMRC guidelines)
    • Travel time and second class rail fares paid for travelling personnel (this will be subject to tax)
    • Long weekends worked on a rotational basis for travelling personnel
    • Radius allowance for commuting is available for local personnel (this will be subject to tax)
    • The above rates include for holiday pay
    • Expected hours at this stage is 38 hours per week, overtime maybe possible at a later date

  • Welders Mates

    Hinkley Point C, Somerset
    • Position - Welders Mates

    • Starts - ASAP
    • Duration - 12 - 18 Months

    Mactech require Welders Mates for Hinkley Point C nuclear new build project in Somerset, starting asap for 12 -18 months work.

    Applicants must have previous grinding experience and have set up welds and assisted Welders previously.

    An abrasive wheels certificate and safety passport or CSCS card is essential.

    Rates: Days £14.21, Nights £17.01, OT1 £19.82, OT2 25.42

  • Concrete Labourers (Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build)

    Hinkley Point C, Somerset
    • Position - Concrete Labourers (Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build)
    • Ref:
    • Salary - TBC
    • Starts - Staggered from July 2017
    • Duration - 14-18 months

    Perform tasks involving physical labor for concrete and masonry construction project.
    Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
    Clean and prepare sites,
    Dig trenches, set braces and concrete forms,
    Erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials.
    May assist other craft workers.
    Experience within the industry.
    Experience working with and setting up and pouring into timber formwork.
    Preparing jobsite.
    Working with telehandlers.
    Loading and unloading of materials.
    Recent experience in heavy site installation activities.
    Working in confined spaces.
    Able to work, days, nights and weekends.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum level of HSE test and other pre-requisite experience.
    Operative experience.
    CSCS or CCNSG card.
    Time served apprenticeship or NVQ advantageous
    Valid telescopic handlers license D (inc.slew).

    Optional:
    CPCS Plant and Vehicle Marshall Training A73 and NVQ 2.
    Valid MEWPS licence.
    Valid first aid licence.
    Trailer driving licence.

    Hours: Good levels of hours and overtime available plus long weekend every 2nd weekend.
    Duration: 24 weeks followed by a rest period and then another estimated 44 weeks. 14-18 months in total.

    Start date:
    Mid July 2017 for early works staggered through to October 2017 when major works will kick off for the initial 24 weeks as above, leading onto another 44 weeks as above.

    Preferred but not essential:
    Candidates who are baseline cleared and have been on an civil nuclear site (ideally EDF) in the last 12 months.
    Candidates who are local to site would also be preferred although not essential due to large numbers required.

    Upload CV, certs, CCNSG / CSCS card copies and any other relevant trade certs.

    Please note: Candidates who are baseline cleared to work on EDF sites should clearly identify this on email and / or CV detailing the date and location of the last nuclear site they worked on as well as their security clearance number if they have it.     Able to work, days, nights and weekends.

    Installation of heavy reinforced concrete pipes.
    Installation of pre-fabricated concrete cradles.

    Working in confined spaces.
    Able to work, days, nights and weekends.
